Title: The Anthropocene and the Historian
Abstract: The name – and not just the idea of – the Anthropocene has produced many debates in the social sciences that assume different versions of human history. Some of the debates are about the name itself with alternatives being suggested.
This talk will offer some thoughts about the relationship between what some see as two different matters of concern: „the stratigraphers’ Anthropocene” and „the humanists’ Anthropocene.”
