Marta Rusnak
Marta Rusnak, a professor at the Faculty of Architecture at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. Member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS), recipient of a Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage scholarship and laureate of the Smoleński Award. Principal investigator of a National Science Centre (NCN) grant. She holds a full architectural license and has gained professional experience during her practice in Dublin.
Her early research interests focused on the adaptation of post industrial buildings, conservation theory, cultural landscape, visual communication in historical context, and exhibition and museum architecture. She is the author of four research papers published in the Journal of Cultural Heritage.
She initiated and co-created the LET’s GO Eye-Tracking Laboratory and actively develops interdisciplinary collaborations. Her current research extends to the study of night-time landscape perception and sustainable illumination. Conducting experiments under low and very high luminance conditions led her to modify the construction of eye-trackers, resulting in two patent applications. At the Lunares Research Station, she investigated the impact of isolation on the visual perception of analogue astronauts. She is currently involved in two projects aimed at improving health and safety regulations on construction sites.
Her last, most ambitious undertaking is the co-creation of the Brave-Cog research team, which uses multimodal methods to study biosignals and assess the effectiveness of medical interventions, such as carotid artery recanalization and transcranial brain stimulation in dementia, “covid fog” and ADHD.
