Bio: Alan Smeaton is Emeritus Professor of Computing at Dublin City University and a distinguished and award-winning researcher in artificial intelligence and data analytics with with over 25,000 citations to his work and multiple awards and recognitions. He is a member of the board of the AI Office of Ireland, a Ministerial appointment to oversee national governance and responsible innovation under the EU AI Act. Prior to that Alan was a member of the Government’s AI Advisory Council where he advised Government Departments and public agencies, helping to demystify AI.
