Prof. Rafał Weron’s lecture, titled “CrossFIT: Pushing the Boundaries in Electricity Price Forecasting,” is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd, in the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, auditorium (building A-1, Wybrzeże Wyspiańskiego 27), starting at 1:15 PM.

Electricity price forecasting is a branch of forecasting at the intersection of economics, statistics, computer science, and electrical engineering, focusing on predicting prices in wholesale electricity markets,” explains Prof. Rafał Weron. “Over the past 25 years, many approaches have been attempted, with varying degrees of success. During the lecture, I will talk about the latest advancements in this fascinating field, particularly probabilistic forecasting, forecast averaging, and the use of deep learning methods
The Interdisciplinary Scientific Seminar is a series aimed at a wide audience – students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and anyone interested in expanding their knowledge. Wrocław University of Science and Technology regularly hosts experts from various fields who are eager to share the results of their research.
