Anna Dzimitrowicz
Bio: Anna Dzimitrowicz currently works as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology. She is a member of the Young Academy of Europe. Her research activity is associated with the development, optimization, and application of cold atmospheric pressure plasmas for defined applications, including production of functional food, synthesis of nanoparticles, wastewater purification, and development of novel fertilisers.
In November 2017, she defended with distinction her PhD thesis entitled “Application of atmospheric pressure glow discharge generated in contact with liquid for the synthesis of metallic nanostructures”. She conducted research and gathered knowledge and experience during scientific visits at the Centre for Molecular Biophysics CNRS (Orleans, France), Department of Biology University of Florence (Sesto Fiorentino, Italy), Department of Chemistry University of Florence (Sesto Fiorentino, Italy) and Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology University of Gdansk (Gdansk, Poland). Prof. Dzimitrowicz obtained habilitation in March 2022 based on the thesis entitled “Studies on the possibility of application of cold atmospheric plasmas in nanotechnology, environmental protection, food chemistry, and medicine”.
Her research activity has been awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland (Outstanding Young Scientists scholarship), Foundation for Polish Science (START scholarship), French Embassy (BGF scholarship) and Rector of Wroclaw Tech, for outstanding scientific achievements. In 2016, she won a prestigious Max Born scholarship in the field of chemistry and physics for outstanding scientific achievements. Up to now, she has been a Principal Investigator/Co-principal Investigator of 4 research projects, financed by the National Science Centre. The projects were granted in the following competitions: Preludium 9, Opus 17, Sonata 15 and Opus 23. Also, she conducted an international research project (bilateral exchange) together with Prof. Massimo Bonini’s group (Canaletto, Nawa) from the University of Florence. She has also been a member of the prestigious Stanislaw Lem European Research Prize Committee (2022).
Currently, Prof. Dzimitrowicz is a co-author of 70 research articles, with a total impact factor of 342 (08.08.24), 7 Polish patents and 3 international patent applications (PCT or EPO mode).
