Anna Kuppuswamy

Bio: Anna Kuppuswamy is a clinical neuroscientist and physiotherapist focussing on understanding the neural basis of fatigue. After having graduated in physiotherapy from Madras Medical College, India, Anna pursued a Masters in Neuroscience at University College London followed by a PhD in Motor Neuroscience from Imperial College London. She then moved to the National Institutes of Health, USA as a visiting fellow to start her investigations into pathological fatigue. She returned to the UK with a Stroke Association Fellowship to investigate post-stroke fatigue at Queen Square Institute of Neurology, London. In 2016, she was awarded a Wellcome Trust / Royal Society Sir Henry Dale fellowship to start her lab investigating fatigue. As of October 2023, she moved her lab to School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Leeds, where she continues to investigate and develop interventions for pathological fatigue.
