Anna MiĆniakiewicz
Bio: Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of the WrocĆaw University of Science and Technology (WrocĆaw Tech), member of Academia Iuvenum. Professionally focuses on the social role of architecture, Universal Design, barrier-free architecture, and design for the elderly. A co-initiator of the Laboratory of Universal Design at WUST and an architectural accessibility auditor – one of 30 in Poland allowed by Ministry of Development Founds and Regional Policy to issue accessible certificates. Works on the border of architecture and Service Design, was highly involved in research projects financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Horizon 2020project – Co-creation of Social Innovation in Europe (CoSIE). In September2020, she defended her PhD thesis entitled ” The role of urban space in the social activation of seniors “. Co-works with Non-Governmental Organizations with various projects. Initiator and organizer of projects promoting science and architecture without barriers, incl. scientific conferences, student workshops, special lectures, exhibitions, and meetings for children. Architect, author of several dozen architectural designs, including competition designs carried out based on civic initiatives.
