Erol Gelenbe

Title: “AI for Cyberattack Detection and Mitigation”

Bio: Erol Gelenbe is a Turkish and French computer scientist who pioneered the field of Computer Systems and Network Performance and is a Professor at the IITIS Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He graduated with High Honours from the Middle East Technical University (Ankara), received a PhD from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, and a Doctor of Science degree from the Sorbonne. Recipient of Honoris Causa Doctorates from the Roma II, Liège, Bogaziçi (Istanbul) Universities and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, he is a Member of Academia Europaea, Fellow of the Science Academies of Belgium, Poland and Turkey, of the French National Academy of Technologies, and Honorary Fellow of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Islamic Academy of Sciences. Awarded Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, he also received the honours of Commander of the Order of Merit of Italy and France, Commander of the Order of the Crown of Belgium and the Cross of Officer of the Order of Merit of Poland.
