Katarzyna Filus
Title: “Cognitive psychology-inspired methods for neural network testing”
Bio: Katarzyna Filus, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IITiS PAN). Her research focuses on the explainability and security of deep neural networks, with a current interest in mechanistic interpretability. She has participated in more than 10 national and international projects and has served as a project leader in initiatives funded by the National Science Centre (OPUS 30) and PLGrid. She is the author of more than 30 scientific publications and serves as a reviewer for leading AI conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, AAAI, ICLR) and journals (e.g., Neural Networks, Neurocomputing). She also contributes to the organization of scientific events, including organizing special sessions (e.g., IJCNN 2026), serving as a Program Committee member (e.g., IEEE MASCOTS, IEEE OWAD Workshop), and acting as Publicity Chair (e.g., OLA 2027). She is a recipient of two national scholarships for outstanding young scientists: the START Scholarship of the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education for Outstanding Young Scientists.
