Katarzyna Chojnacka

Bio: Professor Katarzyna Chojnacka is an expert in chemical and process engineering, known for her advancements in creating new agrochemical products and technologies. She holds a master’s degree in biotechnology with a focus on Environmental Chemistry from Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WroclawTech). In 2003, she obtained her PhD, followed by a Habilitated Doctor (DSc) degree in 2008, and the title of Professor, granted by the President of Poland in 2012.

According to Scopus, Professor Chojnacka has authored 353 publications with 10,559 citations, achieving an H-index of 50. She has written influential books such as “Marine Algae Extracts” and “Smart Agrochemicals for Sustainable Agriculture” published by renowned scientific publishers like Wiley, Elsevier and CRC Press.

Currently, she is a Full Professor at WroclawTech, where she leads the Department of Advanced Material Technologies in the Faculty of Chemistry. She heads numerous projects funded by national and international organisations and serves as an expert for various Polish and international institutions, including the European Commission.

Her research focuses on biosorption, bioaccumulation, and creating eco-friendly fertilisers and feed additives by utilising biomass and waste for agriculture. Professor Chojnacka’s significant contributions have had a major impact on academic research and practical applications in agriculture and environmental protection. She is acknowledged as one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide in the field of Physical Chemistry.
